Good 1U VCA module

I bought the 1U VCA. It works as expected. Fast shipping. Module looks good in my rack. No issues.

Apex module and support experience

I ordered an Apex module a while back, and it's been a solid addition to my rack. The ordering process on their website was straightforward, and it shipped out within a couple of days, arriving in about a week. Initially, I had a small question about a specific function, so I contacted their support. They replied pretty quickly, within a day, and gave me a clear explanation. The module itself is well-built and performs exactly as described. I appreciate the clear instructions that came with it, too. It's always a good sign when a company provides good support alongside a quality product. My experience was positive overall, from selecting the module to getting it installed and using it daily.

OCP X is pretty cool

I grabbed an OCP X a couple weeks ago. It's really versatile for its size, which is nice. Shipping was pretty quick, took about 5 days to reach Denver. Packaging was solid, nothing got messed up. Good stuff.

Anyone know if Plum Audio does sales very often? Really want to grab a couple of modules but waiting for a good deal.

R Rachel Lopez 1 month ago
They definitely have sales! Black Friday / Cyber Monday is a big one. Also saw some good stuff around Christmas last year. Sometimes they do smaller holiday sales too.

A Alex Gomez 1 month ago
Yeah, if you sign up for their newsletter you usually get 10% off right away. They also do bigger sales around Superbooth or other synth events, usually 20% then.

Can I stack the newsletter discount with a Black Friday code? Or is it one coupon per order?

S Susan Williams 1 month ago
Pretty sure they don't stack. Almost all online stores are one coupon at a time.

Z Zach Parker 1 month ago
Nah, never seen a site let you double up on discounts. It'll probably say "only one coupon per order" or just not apply the second one.

What payment options do they accept? Just PayPal, or cards too?

A Alex T. 1 month ago
They take all the usual cards - Visa, Mastercard, Amex. And PayPal too, if that's your thing.

Standard credit/debit cards work, and PayPal. Pretty much what you'd expect from an online store.

Are the Plum Audio 1U modules compatible with Intellijel cases? Heard some 1U stuff isn't always standard.

R Ryan White 1 week ago
Yup, totally compatible. I have a 1U VCA in my Intellijel Palette case and it fits perfectly.

M Michelle Phillips 1 week ago
Can confirm, they're designed for the Intellijel 1U standard. No issues at all there.

Do Plum Audio modules come with power cables or do I need to buy those separately?

D Donna Mitchell 2 weeks ago
Mine came with a power ribbon cable. Most modules do, it's pretty standard.

L Leah Wright 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they include the ribbon cable for power. You're good there.

Thinking about getting the Apex or OCP, but also looking at something similar from ALM Busy Circuits. Any thoughts on Plum vs ALM for utility stuff?

K Karen R. 4 weeks ago
Plum modules are super compact and usually pack a lot of functions into a small space, especially the 1U stuff. ALM is great too, but sometimes less dense. Depends on your hp budget.

R Richard N. 4 weeks ago
Plum is great for getting a lot done in a small footprint. ALM has a different aesthetic and often more dedicated functions. Both solid, but Plum usually wins on space efficiency for me.

What's the return policy like if I buy a DIY kit and realize I'm completely in over my head?

A Ashley Gonzalez 2 weeks ago
Afraid you probably can't return DIY kits once you start 'em or even open the bag. Most places don't let you return partial builds or if you mess it up. Read their terms though, just in case.
6
J Jeff H. 1 week ago
Nah, pretty sure DIY kits are generally final sale once you've received them, especially if you've opened the components. It's a risk you take with DIY unfortunately.

Is Plum Audio a legit company? Haven't heard a ton about them but their modules look cool.

Z Zach Campbell 4 weeks ago
Yeah, they're legit. I've bought a few modules from them and they're solid. Good quality stuff.

W William Robinson 3 weeks ago
Totally legit. Smaller operation than some of the big names but their modules are well-regarded and innovative, especially the 1U stuff. Based out of France I think.
